When you invite me to capture your maternity, newborn, and family experiences, I know you’re sharing your heart with me. Through my photos, I share my heart with you, too.
For any mother that has been told she is “simply glowing,” a desert maternity photoshoot is a priceless opportunity to capture that feeling. Take a look at these recent desert maternity photos and see why you should consider desert maternity photos of your own.
There’s a certain sense of serenity that the desert brings, especially for a photoshoot. It’s a calming, yet organic environment that can make you feel composed and at ease.
The desert often brings a blank canvas feel to photoshoots, a neutral background that you can use for any understated photoshoot. And if you do want that pop of color, you can use flowers to bring in some warmth, or wear a dress with texture and color too. (Or an actual blank canvas like we did with Brittany.)
A dress with movement is my go-to recommendation. It gives an elegant, yet easygoing feel for an outdoor shoot. That’s what this desert maternity photoshoot with Rachel’s husband brought into play.
Her desert maternity photoshoot proved how effective neutral and light pastel color choices can be among the stark color palette of the arid outdoors. I loved the contrast between her flowing gown as it trailed against the setting sun.
Rachel’s peach-pink dress, along with his vintage khakis and tee, fit in effortlessly with the sun-bleached desert landscape.
Their excitement at the prospect of parenthood was a joy to glimpse, even for a day.
I can’t let you plan a desert maternity photoshoot without letting you see more of these modern, floral-filled images.
She held the flowers, as if casually picked among the field, to bring a unique look and feel to her maternity photos.
A later outfit, a floral embroidered dress, made Brittany stand out from the warm background in a timeless way. We ended her maternity photoshoot with her husband, taking photos of the scene in a way that will stand the test of time.
Need to see more inspiration? I could spend all day in the desert soaking up this radiant, yet remote scene.
